My First Microdermal

So after seeing the article on BME on microdermals I loved the idea and I had to have one.  So I called Infinite to see if they were doing the procedure.  They said they were not offering it to the general public but to stop in to talk to the piercer, it turns out that I have been pierced there five times and I am pretty familier with almost all the staff.  So when I came in we set up an appointment and that was that. Spur of the moment nape piercing

I decided a week or so ago that I wanted to have my tongue web and sternum pierced. So yesterday I walked to the piercing studio down the road from my college to see if I could get my tongue web pierced. I was really disappointed when I saw the sign saying it was shut until the 6th of november. But I wasn’t too worried because I was planning to go to Pro Body Piercing today anyway to have my sternum piercing done.

To surface or not to surface

There was actually no question in my mind of whether or not I wanted a nape piercing. I hadn’t planned, exactly, to do it on my 18th birthday, but it just sort of worked out that way.

I went into HTC because they are clean, and familiar (I have been in several times before to admire their large body jewelry collection) and because I knew where it was actually located. (I have problems with getting lost.)

Anywho, I knew I had the money, and I was going to call before going in, but I decided it would be worth the trip anyway just to look around, even if I couldn’t get the piercing.

Surface to Surface

Early this year, I had two surface to surface (surface bar) piercings on my chest, of which I absolutely loved the look. Up to this point, I had about 15 piercings in my life, and the surface to surface were definitely the most painful. Am I complaining? Not at all. Several months after the first one was done, I snagged it while I was sleeping on the collar of my tank top, which tore part of the tunnel. I tried changing the bar bell and taping it in place but it started migrating because the lower hole had torn. To remedy this, I removed the bar and Roz gave me two lovely dermal implants. The dermal implant process was much more intense that the surface to surface procedure, but they too looked lovely.

Sternum Microdermals Lovely and Painful

I jumped into an obsession with piercing feet first, pretty early on, after stumbling across BME. My first was a monroe the day after my fifteenth birthday, done by Sailor Cher at Fountain of Youth Tattoo in St. Augustine, FL. She went on to do my nostril and eyebrow. Eventually, they had to be taken out or were lost, and while I was sad, I felt like I needed to leave them out for the direction my life was taking. I didn’t have the money to re-do them, had already had a disastrous self-piercing incident, and my look was slowly and unusually getting more conservative. I decided to just roll with it, and if my life brought me back around to getting piercings, then I would go with it.

Frankenstein Microdermals

I have never been, nor expect to be, an extraordinary member of the body modification community. I’ve had a few piercings and a small tattoo on my wrist, but never anything that has really warranted someone passing me in the street to stop, point and gasp loudly. But even so, I have always been proud of my piercings, and I enjoy explaining the meaning behind my tattoo. The only problem I had was that I had seen every one of my piercings on other people. Although out of my immediate group of friends I was the most modified, I didn’t feel like much of an individual at the local pub or at a gig. This changed when I got my microdermal anchors.

First Surface Piercings Hooray

The first time that I saw a surface piercing on the nape I decided that I had to have one. They kind of have a certain elegance to them, I think. Also, I was really interested in how tygon would feel in skin. I’ve always just had some sort of metal barbell or plug and I had heard that it’s very comfortable. At the time, I didn’t have any friends who had gotten these done, so it was kind of new territory. I saved up in my little piggy bank and finally the day came. Yay! (I’m horrible at saving money, so it’s just a testament to how much I wanted these.)

Microdermals

Hi my name is Briana and I am writing about my experience of getting two microdermals on my chest at Krazy Kats Tattoo & Body Piercing by the amazing Tee.

The last piercing I had was a nose piercing, also done by Tee in May 2009 and it was really easy to take care of. So, after much consideration and lots of researching, I went back to Krazy Kats to get my chest microdermals because I think they are so pretty, classy and very unique. I went there on a Thursday afternoon with a couple of my friends. I was very very nervous and so are my friends J  But Tee greeted us warmly and as always she asked what I wanted to get done. I told her I wanted to get two microdermals. Tee said she also got 3 microdermals that she did herself and she even showed me. They all looked incredibly stunning on her. After that, Tee showed me the jewelries and said that I could choose the colors of my gemstones. I had my paperwork filled out, and we were ready to go.

First Ever Piercing

Since I was 14 the piercing I had my eye on was my nape. After seeing a guy with one while out and about and looking through hundreds of pictures, stories, risks and asking lots of question by the time i was 15 and a half I had decided if there was a piercing to start with, the nape was for me.

I had done  A LOT, and I mean a lot of research into the best method to receive a nape piercing that would last as long as possible without migrating or being totally rejected. I read a few horror stories and looked at some pictures of what could happen if improperly sized jewelry, or method was used.

Scalp Piercing the toni

I have fairly recently fallen in love with body modification (within the last year or so).  I have always been fascinated with piercings and tattoos, but my knowledge of them and other mods was little to none; it was just interesting.  I met Damien, an experienced piercing artist, who became my gateway into the community.  Since meeting and befriending him my knowledge of body modification has expanded greatly, specifically with piercings.
